"On top of all this, I would just like to say that the people at the Scrum Alliance (http://www.scrumalliance.org/) rock like Hagar. Jim Cundiff, Tobias Mayer, Howard Sublett, Maria Matarelli and Tom Mellor, who was kind enough to record a video welcome to the members of MSC Malaysia for our opening event are some of the most responsive and supportive people I've run across in my 10+ years of volunteering for professional organizations. I owe all of them many pints."

Over the last 12 years, Maria's experience has ranged from Project Manager to Agile Coach using traditional Project Management methods, Six Sigma, Agile techniques and the scrum framework. She has led multiple Project Management training courses including PMP Prep courses and Agile and Scrum training.

In addition to her client teams; Maria most recently visited Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada to lead the 4-Day PDD sessions on agile and team leadership in concert with the PMI Manitoba Chapter.

Maria is a Certified Professional Coach with a real passion for helping her clients identify their goals and how to achieve them. She enjoys helping clients to clearly articulate their desires and stay accountable to their objectives.

Maria takes pride in her ability to capture her team’s attention and inspiring people to deliver work on the next level.  Her focus on the big picture streamlines processes, provides a clear understanding of the product to be delivered, while allowing her teams to focus on their individual contributions.

Maria works with both management teams and individual project teams. She has consulted large enterprise environments and played an instrumental part of role based steering committees in the adoption of iterative process management. She has worked on projects taking Scrum beyond the software development environment, spoken at PMI Chapter Meetings on agile adoption and has been involved in the planning and coordination of global industry conferences. Maria has spent much of her time over the last year speaking with corporations, universities, Not for Profit groups, and has led Open Space sessions with 150+ audiences.

Her project management integration leads to effective facilitation of project teams and Program Management personnel in the reporting and tracking of key requirements while using an iterative approach. In addition, her passion for training and leveraging both the PMBOK structure and the Scrum framework affords her partners a true unbiased perspective in determining the right tool, the right people, and the immediate return of value on her projects.

Maria also founded the Illinois Regional Agile Users Group (IRAUG NFP) and stays heavily involved in the Project Management and Agile community through her attendance at industry conferences and involvement with local chapters.
